Jim Kweskin – guest of Hornbeam in 2016
We’re thrilled to announce that 1960s Jug Band leader Jim Kweskin is to visit the UK for the very first time. During the folk revival, Jim Kweskin’s Jug Band played an energetic and fun mix of old-time jazz, blues, folk and jug music. Their influence extended to the likes of the Grateful Dead and Lovin’ Spoonful. Never one to stand still, Jim has continued his musical journey and recorded a number of solo albums in recent years. Check out his website at www.jimkweskin.com
While Jim‘s here he’ll be recording material for a Hornbeam album and playing a couple of gigs. The plan is to have him return later in 2016 to promote the album. First up will be a show at Sam Lee’s Nest Collective in London. Bonnie Dobson whose path crossed with Jim‘s on the 60s folk circuit is also on the lineup. The second gig will be hosted by Robin Gillan & Julie Watson at their Black Fen Folk Club in Cambridge. Exciting!!
